Bean Boozled - canned dog food or chocolate pudding?

Another exciting weekend has come to a close. And by exciting, I mean not exciting.

I did order a refill on my high blood pressure medication. So, I feel accomplished doing that. Actually, I had a bunch of stuff to do around the house and I made a small dent in that list.

We went to Culver's for dinner tonight and then did our usual Sunday grocery shopping. I also went to Petsmart to get Lucky some dog food. They were out of the giant bags of the kind he eats so I had to buy a smaller one. That means I'll be back there before the end of March to get more. Such is the life of the owner of a 50 pound hungry dog.

I did watch ten minutes of the Oscars broadcast tonight. The part I viewed was when Leonardo DiCaprio won the award for best actor, and then the announcement of "Spotlight" for best picture. I've always enjoyed the Oscars but every year I have to look up the movies online because I have not seen any of them even though we have HBO and Showtime. Anthony and I don't go out to the movies because we can't agree on what we'd both like to see. I like comedies and action flicks and Anthony doesn't. If every movie was like "Walking Dead" or "Night Of The Living Dead" he'd be a happy camper. Since my favorite movie of all time is "Dumb and Dumber" you can see why we never agree on a movie to go to. This is also why we have multiple TVs in our house. In the end, I'm sure it's my fault. I'm soooooo difficult to live with.

This is Anthony's idea of dinner

Kellogg's Finding Dory cereal
This movie doesn't come out for a while and
the cereal is already in stores.

Did you know that I can make my own sausage gravy?
Mine is also made from scratch using a special rub.

Pepperidge Farm Brightside granola.
It's in the shape of a heart... or a butt.
Take your pick.

I had a cheese explosion once.
Fortunately, there are no photos available of the event.

"I just want a damn cleaning stick!"

They still make Stetson and Aqua Velva.
Mix them together and you'll hear moaning from
a nearby senior citizen home.

Jelly Belly Bean Boozled jelly beans
There was only one package of these left and I bought it.

The jelly beans look alike but you'll either get flavors like
stinky socks or tutti-fruitti, lawn clippings or lime,
and the others seen in the photo.
My co-workers will enjoy these.
And by enjoy, I mean hate.

Yooooooooooo Anthony...
I found you something.
The good news is... they're ready to use.

A chair, a table, and a woman's butt on clearance

This was a pretty routine week. It was the usual at work, the usual at home, and today was the usual dinner and grocery shopping Sunday excursion. Anthony went with me today which makes a much better trip. I like eating dinner with him as opposed to by myself.

We did go to Target before dinner so I could purchase a new rolling chair for my home office (my other one had been pretty much destroyed from use). The city of Tucson does their "brush and bulky" pick up this week and it was an opportunity to put the old chair out and get it picked up as opposed to wondering what in the heck I'm going to do with an old heavily used office chair.

We had dinner at Culver's and then our usual grocery shopping at Walmart Neighborhood Market.

I put the office chair together (they always require assembly) when we got home, Anthony's now out in the back living room watching the new episode of The Walking Dead, and I just finished my work for the weekend and now I'm writing this post. I also just paid the water bill online.

This is all the excitement I can handle. Wheeeee.

I did not buy the woman's butt in the photo even
though it was marked down on clearance.

We were order number 69 at Culver's.
Heh heh

Anthony dives into his Concrete Mixer at Culver's.
That's a happy face cause there's whipped cream in there.

I don't like pickles and Anthony didn't want it.

Don't just take their word for it.

Collector's Edition Kung Fu Panda 3 cereal
I want to meet the person who collects cereal
to tell them to get a life.

There's barely any water left at Walmart Market.
There must have been some thirsty people this week.

Anthony locates some water to put into the cart.
He doesn't let me touch his water because he says
I contaminate it.
He really knows how to make me feel special.

The water made it to the check out without me contaminating it.
It's a miracle.
I tried not to breathe on it even though I was the person
pushing the cart around the store.

Valentine's Day 2016

Valentine's Day 2016 fell on a Sunday this year. So, I did get to spend the day with Anthony and that included dinner and grocery shopping -- our normal Sunday routine.

Valentine's dinner was at Jersey Mike's and we ate sandwiches. I offered to take Anthony out to a sit down semi-fancy dinner and he wanted a sandwich instead. My cost conscious ways may be rubbing off on him a little too much.

I bought him a giant cupcake a few days ago for Valentine's (which he promptly devoured) and he bought me a cute little mug with flowers and candy in it. The big project for Valentine's Day was washing bedding. There's a lot of love for clean sheets in our house.

Happy Valentine's Day!

It was an 81 degree winter day today and I'm not disappointed.

Can I put my banana in your chocolate?

The Oreo people have done it again...
here's Filled Cupcake Oreos.
I bought a package for my co-workers to enjoy.
It's my Valentine's Day gift to them although
they would probably prefer getting a day off.

Easter candy is already on display at Walmart Neighborhood Market.
Christmas candy is probably in a warehouse already waiting
to be shipped the moment that Mother's Day is over.

Superbowl Sunday 2016

Another Superbowl Sunday is in the books.

I watched some of the game, went to dinner at Taco Bell, and shopped for some groceries.

Anthony wanted to stay home and work on his laundry so I was solo today. He sends me with a grocery list and as usual, I held my breath hoping I'd buy the right stuff on the list. I can happily report that I was successful.

Going out to eat and grocery shop on Superbowl Sunday has a big perk: It's even less busy at most places than most Sundays (which are usually not that busy to begin with). I went to Home Depot once during a Superbowl and I was one of maybe four customers in the store. Today's visit to Taco Bell was pretty similar to that... I was one of four in the restaurant. The grocery store was not very busy either.

Denver beat Carolina to win the game. I was home in time to watch the end. One thing about sports is that there's always a winner and a loser. The winners are happy and the losers pout. It looked to me like both teams deserved to be in the game and it was close to the end. That's all I ever want from a game. The commercials that I viewed were pretty good, too.

This is the chair that Anthony would have been sitting
in if he had been there with me.

was pretty deserted today due to the Superbowl.

No one was in the syrup, cereal, canned fruit
and toaster pastries aisle, either.

First visit to Native Grill and Wings

I had a culinary adventure this week with a visit to Native Grill and Wings at Speedway and Country Club in Tucson. It's located in the former Chuy's location on the southeast corner.

Anthony had been there a few times with co-workers but he wanted to take me there to check the joint out and it was my first visit tonight.

A few things I noticed immediately after arriving:

*The parking lot is awful. It would be really easy to back into another car.

*The building basically looks the same as it did when it was Chuy's, both inside and out.

*It's not a place to go if you want to have a non-shouting conversation with anyone you're with if they are across the table from you. It's really noisy in there. But, I figured out pretty quickly from the menu that it's not really a fine dining restaurant. It's bar food, bar drinks, sports on TVs, and obviously caters to a clientele that leans male and probably didn't put on a clean shirt or underwear before going there.

I looked up their website when I got home and discovered that they have locations in four states: Montana, South Dakota, Texas, and Arizona. Once I learned that, it all made sense.

Anthony ordered two kinds of boneless chicken wings and I had a bacon cheeseburger that had three kinds of cheese on it. My burger was nicely presented, tasted fine, and the fries were pretty good. I ordered a Diet Coke and was quite excited when it was delivered in a pretty large glass. We also got a tater tot appetizer that had bacon, cheese and sour cream drizzled on it. The bill came to about $35 so I'd describe it as moderately priced.

I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend Native Grill, but I wouldn't tell you not to go. If you're on a first date I would go somewhere else, if you don't mind hanging with a beer drinking crowd who watches UFC fights and demands a menu with 20 kinds of wings, then it's perfect for you. (Note: In addition to wings and burgers, they also serve pizza and other types of sandwiches like chicken and club, so finding something that appeals to you would probably not be difficult).

Hold on or you'll fall off the ground

If you're like me and enjoy taking pictures of interesting and unusual things, then the first thing you learn to do is keep your eyes open for interesting and unusual things.

A bit of an optical illusion presented itself in the back parking lot of the TV station today. There was a railing that looked like it was installed on the ground.

If you take it at face value, it would seem one would need to lay down to use it.

Hopefully no one comes to work drunk enough to require a railing to keep from falling off the ground.

Ceiling work should be left to ceiling people

There was a displaced ceiling tile in the show office and Alex decided he could put it back in place. It was a chilly morning in the office and the thought process was that closing that gaping hole could possibly make the office warmer.

Two things were accomplished: A bunch of ceiling tile dust was knocked loose and the ceiling tile was only partially put back where it was supposed to be.

Hey Alex, we have people to do that you know.
