First of all, I'm amazed as how nuts people are on Facebook and Twitter about politics. I actually read posts leading up to the election that said things like "if Obama is reelected, I'm packing up and moving to China". That ranks among the stupidest things I've ever read.
This morning, as I was driving to the TV station, I heard on the Jon Justice radio talk show (on 104.1) a woman named Darlene who was crying. She was distraught that Obama had won. Crying real tears. I couldn't keep myself from laughing. Its cute she cares that much, but she doesn't have a grip on reality. Then I switched the station so I could hear some Justin Bieber.
I do have opinions about politics. I mostly keep them to myself. I know that it doesn't really matter who wins the election. Because it rarely, if ever, affects my day to day life.
It seems to be the same mentality that comes with sports. You pick a side or a candidate, and if your choice wins its exciting and you feel victorious. If your choice loses, its devistating. But it really doesn't have an affect on most people's lives.
I watched a little bit of the election returns on TV... after I watched some episodes of Cops recorded on TiVo. That tells you how much I was worrying about the election.
Lucky wasn't worrying either.
