An interesting day at work!
One of my Twitter Tweets about the space shuttle landing last night was shown on KOLD channel 13 during their 5 p.m. newscast today.
Then, the police came to the Journal / Mega 106.3 building a bit earlier. I had to get a photo because this sort of thing always looks more exciting than it really is. When you take a lot of photos like I do you live for making things look more exciting than they actually are.
It wasn't for anything major (the police visit) but it looked cool from an upstairs window.

The last space shuttle flight just landed
I just watched on CNN the last space shuttle flight in American history land safely. Atlantis was the final orbiter to make a space flight.
My dad worked on the space program in the 1960's. He was a quality control inspector for Rocketdyne who made the engines for the Apollo space missions.
The first space shuttle flight was in April of 1981. I was a sophomore in high school. The last one touched down just over 30 years later.
Now I feel old.

Lucinda Holliday's 3rd anniversary at Cosmic Bingo
Lucinda Holliday, Tucson's Queen of Comedy, celebrated her third anniversary hosting Cosmic Bingo at Casino Del Sol and I was there for the photo op.
There was a surprise (which I didn't have anything to do with). An amazing cake for Lucinda.
Check out the photos as Lucinda's surprise is revealed and she gets a taste.

Monsoon rain Sunday July 17
We've had almost a weeklong break from monsoon rains in Tucson but they have returned today.
Grey skies and wet sidewalks. We get excited about such things around here.

Iron Man underwear
I'm wearing my brand new Iron Man underwear today. As in the movie. Has Iron Man on the front and everything. Anthony got them for me for my birthday. Not because I like the movie. But because... I know how to iron.

Work Poo
I have a poo and pee calendar. It doesn't have photos but does have fun and fascinating facts and entries about poo and pee. It sits on my desk at work.
Today's entry is titled "Work Poo". I thought it was worth sharing.
"You have just returned from an all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet and are settling into your desk when the rumbling begins. You attempt to pass off the gurgling and bloating as mere gas but soon realize that this is the real deal. It's game time. You are on the verge of a Work Poo, and an unplanned one at that. You desperately attempt to stifle the urge while quickly taking stock of your surroundings, noting the locations and types of bathrooms (unisex, multiple stalls, etc.) and amount of ambient noise. You can only hope and pray for a quick, quiet, and odorless expulsion. Despite the urgency, don't forget the rules of the Work Poo (most importantly, try to find a private bathroom in a different part of the building.)"
Thanks again to Anthony for giving me the poo and pee calendar last Christmas. It has been the gift that keeps on giving.

Shopping at Target
Anthony and I took a little shopping trip to Target today at Grant and Tanque Verde in Tucson.
The best part about leisure shopping is the random experience that it becomes.
I'll demonstrate with a couple of photos:

My neighbor bird
I was out on the balcony of my apartment at Ridgepointe Apartments today and realized there is a new neighbor in the tree by the balcony.
It looks like it smiled for the camera. You be the judge.

Mercedes Benz of Tucson under construction
I was on my way to the radio station this afternoon and drove by the soon to be new Mercedes Benz of Tucson car dealership at Grant & Wilmot.
If you've lived in Tucson for a minute you'll remember before this it was Saturn of Tucson and Emich Oldsmobile before that.
It looks like quite an extravagant place. Which means unless I win the lottery I won't ever be able to afford a car from there but its always fun to dream.
I believe its supposed to be open sometime this fall 2011.
I took the photo from my car while sitting at the stoplight there.
