This was one of the busier weekends I've had in a while.
First of all, my apartment is a huge mess. My friend Clint came over last week (he now lives in Seattle but we were roommates a couple of years ago... and he is currently on a two week visit to Arizona). He still had stuff here and needed to go through it. That's all done but I haven't had a chance to clean up afterward. I've had a full schedule.
I had my usual live broadcast at Monsoon at Desert Diamond Casino on Friday night and then Saturday I was in the Ladies Council fashion show benefitting Tu Nidito. I wasn't a fashion model (that would be comedy all by itself) but was a 'celebrity' runway walker with the kids from Tu Nudito. This is the second year I've been in the show. Going to the fashion show is an experience all by itself. Mostly it reminded me that I'm poor. There were packages being auctioned off that were getting 5000 dollar plus bids. If I had that kind of money I'd buy some new socks.
I had to jam over to Casino Del Sol to host Cosmic Bingo since Lucinda Holliday was in New Orleans and I fill in when she's out of town. It was an odd night because it had some of the lightest attendance I'd seen in a long time, there was no manager on duty so the normal extra prizes were smaller than usual, they had sound system issues before we started, and it was just odd. I got through it but it was a strange night.
Sunday night I went to a choral concert at University of Arizona with Anthony. We went because a friend of ours was in a part of it. The show was not my cup o' tea. I felt like a five year old fidgeting in my seat for more than 90 minutes and I didn't recognize any of the music. The surprise to me was the little auditorium we were in was packed. I was disappointed they didn't have a snack bar where I could get a hot dog or soda but I did my best to enjoy the performance since I know the performers all worked hard on their show.
I blogged the photos from some of the weekend and you can see them in the blog posts before this one. KENjoy!
