I have made a shocking discovery. Just about everything in my apartment has expired!
I know expiration dates are on things for some reason. Although I am not quite sure why the dates are chosen.
A few examples:
Vitamin C tablets: March 2009
Antibiotic ointment: May 2008
Hamburger Helper Stroganoff Singles: Sept 3, 2009
Creamy peanut butter (unopened!) July 30, 2008
Honey Nut Cheerios: May 2, 2009
Apple Cinnamon Cheerios: May 30, 2009
Pop Secret Popcorn: August 4, 2008
Butterfinger Hot Cocoa Mix: January 2009
Heinz Ketchup: May 2009
Nearly full bottle of SPF 15 sunscreen: April 2008
At least the tube of biscuits, one of the only things in my refrigerator, is good until November 1. Although its a lot of pressure to use it by then.
I don't know what happens. I can't use stuff fast enough before the expiration fairy visits. Its too tough of an economy to just throw it all out. I suppose I'd better get a booster shot from my doctor just in case these items can kill me if used after their expiration date.
I'm afraid to look in my freezer.
